"Success is the ability to go from one failure to another...

"...with no loss of enthusiasm." ~Sir Winston Churchill

Simple Pleasures #1
I love quotes. As if you couldn't already tell that by each post I make... They are so..., I don't know. Great? I have no way to describe them. They're just..., yeah. I love them.

Simple Pleasures #2
What else do I love? Gummy fruit snacks. Heck yes I do. Right now I am enjoying some Disney Princess and Finding Nemo gummies (Well, not eating them right now, but I did earlier..., and talking about them makes me want some more.).

Fun Fact #1
My mom actually found me some gummy candy mix for me to make my own. I'm excited. I need to find the perfect molds for them. P.s., I'm all about doing some Willy Wonka stuff with candies. I want to be the Willy Wonka of Harry Potter in real life and minus being a male..., as I am female. The End.

Simple Pleasures #3
I also love icons. Hahaha! They crack me up and they inspire me. For instance, the one I'm using for this post. I'm pretty sure I've used it once before, and I try not to use them more than once, but I saw this one and it spoke to me. I am so glad that God allows U-Turns. So glad. He's allowed me so many and is allowing me one now in my life. Today, in fact.

Confession Time
Some of the ladies in our church have been doing the newest Beth Moore study (The Steps one ; Psalms of Ascents one), and I've been doing the class as well. Well, as I always seem to go, I've fallen behind in my studies. Two weeks to be exact. Man..., I just absolutely get frustrated with myself because of this. I am very much enjoying the study and I've fallen behind. Not only am I irritated about that but about falling behind in my walk with God.

One of the things that Beth Moore suggests in this particular study is getting on your face, literally on your face, before God and humbling yourself before Him. And I love that part of my time in this study. L-O-V-E it. I can't get enough of it. Well, when I am walking where I should be. It is an amazing time before Him that I've not experienced before and has changed my way of prayer. Love it.

I miss it.

That's all I have for today. Leaving you with a picture. Disregard that it is backwards.... I couldn't flip it on the Mac.

Peace out.

The End.

"With every mistake we must surely be learning."

"Still my guitar gently weeps."

So, I made the investment in two movies (used) for the price of $20 at the Blockbuster. 1) Across the Universe, and 2) Martian Child.

Across the Universe:
Hello. So good. L-O-V-Ein this movie. Face is completely rocked off with the way this was done. Okay, face rocked off is a bit dramatic, but it really is good. All Beatles songs. Beautiful arrangements. Very beautiful. Go and view it.

Martian Child:
All Cusack fans should watch this. It isn't the best of his work, but it is still brilliant. I don't want to say too much about it, not because it will ruin the movie for you, but because trying to describe it would make it sound boring, and it isn't. At all. It is an emotional movie, and not just emotional in the sense that you will cry. You will cry, at times, but you will also feel the frustration that David (John Cusack) feels and goes through. You mainly feel his emotions during the majority of the movie, but towards the end, especially one scene, you feel Dennis's (the little boy, a.k.a., the Martian Child) emotions. P.s., the little boy that plays Dennis, oh my goodness. You just want to keep him. He is absolutely adorable!

Anyway. That's really all I have to say.

Peace out.

The End.

"We'll see you Sunday..."

"Wait, I mean.... Nevermind. Amen."

Ah...always funny to me. Good ol' Kel.

So, I have some of my pics from this past weekend edited and up on the Flickr. Here are a few of them. Clicker your way over to see the rest here.

1. First pic is of me and Hector. Seven years later we're still throwin' up the Wal-Mart sign. Keepin' it real, yo. *We worked at the Ponderosa Bible Camp in Mentone about seven years ago together.
2. Second pic is of me and Heath "The Thunder" McNease after Joyful Noise came to an end. We were dead-tired. He had been driving (from Maryland) since after 5 that morning to get down to NC for the festival. Hector was finally crashing from putting this thing together and runnin' around making sure everything happened. I was tired from the drive the day before and and the week leading up to that weekend (finally crashing since it was finished). We all went to eat some Mmm, mmm good Chinese food a few hours after those pics were taken.

Anyway. Go check the Flickr to see more pictures of the performances and the crazy scenery we experienced on the road trip back home. I'll be posting more when I get the time to finish them.

Well, I should have been in the bed almost two hours ago. Way to go Smart Kid. Peace out.

The End.

"For the past 30-40 years..."

"...the Goat Man has actively roamed the South."

Okay. I don't know who the Goat Man is, or what his story is (mainly because I could barely hear it over the music on my iPod, which I was listening to at the time...as you can tell...man, I'm really tired.), but I can say with full confidence that he is one sight that I would absolutely l-o-v-e to have the memory of seeing him burned into my mind for the rest of my days here on this earth.

So, we're finally home after a very long, and I do mean long, day of traveling back to the Salty Ham from North Carolina. Loads of pictures and even some short videos, but those shall be posted at another time. Sleepy. Very sleepy.

Peace out.

The End.

"Bye, bye Miss Chair Model Lady..."

"As dead as a dead animal can get."

So... I am slightly on the sad side that my cds won't be in until after Joyful Noise is over with. Am I gonna get upset and stress about this? No. I slept that off. I have  a problem solver: pre-order.

Random side note:
The Hanes Wedgie Free ad with the girl from SCRUBS. Okay, do what ever self-respecting woman does when she has a wedgie in the department store, mask yourself behind the clothing rack and casually pull it out. No need for all that leg shaking or bend and snap stuff (Btw: what was that about? I've never known that method to work. I didn't even know that was a method.). Or! If you can't do that, grab an article of clothing and hit the dressing room.

Moving along...
I posted pictures of The Myriad from the concert last weekend. Flicker your way to the Flickr to check 'em out. Flickr, flickr, flickr, clicker on me.

So, tomorrow we leave! Excited!

Hungry! Going to eat!

Peace out.

The End.

Stacy: "Sherri, are you gonna be able to sing this song?"

Sherri: "We're about to find out."

Good whatever-time-of-the-day-it-is to you all! I have been editing and uploading photos to the Flickr account. So far I've only gotten through the EISLEY pics. I will work on The Myriad, The Envy Corps and Vedera at a later date (i.e., tomorrow). Below are a handful of pictures. Click on 'em, you know you want to. Enjoy.

Moving on...up?
So, I found another fun thing to do with the music player, AND! I'm at the desktop...so, it should be much more interesting...

Instructions: Put your iPOD, mp3 player or whatever you use to play music on shuffle. Write down the song that comes up to answer each question. Do not skip songs, even if you repeat artists! After you name the song, write yes or no for the question that follows. See how many actually make sense!

This is my favourite song right now: "I'll Be" by Edwin McCain
Is this true? Nope

This is my least favourite song right now: "Do Ya" by Jump5
Is this true? Nope. Guilty pleasure that always makes me wanna jump about and sing loudly. Hahaha!

This song makes me sad: "If I Fell" (Beatles acoustic guitar cover) by Fred Benedetti & Peter Pupping
Is this true? No, not really. It does tend to put one in a sappy sort of mood though...

This song makes me mad: "23" by Jimmy Eat World
Is this true? Nope

This song makes me happy: "So Long" by Pilotdrift
Is this true? Yes, but not because of the lyrics. I very much enjoy the style of their music and that's what makes me happy when I hear it.

This song ALWAYS cheers me up: "Heal Over" by K.T. Tunstall
Is this true? Nope. I hardly listen to it.

This song brings back lots of memories: "We've Only Just Begun" by Run Kid Run
Is this true? Not really. Well, that's a lie. It reminds me of sitting at the traffic light at Greenspring Ave. and driving home to the apt (when I lived there) at night after work.

This song reminds me of my crush/boyfriend: "Hanuman" by Medeski, Scofield, Martin & Wood
Is this true? Sort of...yeah. Hahaha! One of my Window-Shopping Crushes.

This song is overplayed: "Julia" by Medeski, Scofield, Martin & Wood
Is this true? Nope. I've never heard it except for after I got the cd.

This song is not played enough!: "Secret" by Maroon5
Is this true? I sort of agree...but not totally. I like that it wasn't a single because it would have been ruined had it been.

I'm sick of this song: "It's Goin' Down" by Cross Movement
Is this true? Hahaha! I've never listened to this song! It came off of one of those WOW cds, the "edgier" cd of the two...

I can't get enough of this song: "Charleston" by Dean Fields
Is this true? Not so much. I do enjoy and can't get enough of his stuff, but not this particular song...no.

Someone told me about this song: "You Didn't Know" by Renee Stahl
Is this true? No. I heard this when I worked at the B&N. It was in our In-Store play for a while.

I heard this song on my own: "All I Have To Give" by Backstreet Boys
Is this true? Hahaha! No.

I have watched the video for this song: "Santa Clause Is Coming To Town" by Jump5
Is this true? Nope.

My mom actually likes this song: "The Runaways" by Anberlin
Is this true? Heh, heh...not to my knowledge. She always asks what we're listening to when I play it. Now... If it were the Cha-Cha Slide, then I could honestly say, "yes."

All my friends LOVE this song: "Give Me Some Kind of Sign Girl" by Brenton Woods
Is this true? I have no idea. I don't know if they even know it. It's an oldies song that they'd probably know if they heard it.

I LOVE the artist/band that sings this song: "It Just Takes Some Time" by Jimmy Eat World
Is this true? Absolutely.

I don't really like many songs by the artist/band that sings this song: "Innocence" by Jeremy Camp
Is this true? Honestly, I only like a select amount of his stuff...

I can really relate to this song: "Fire" by Delirious?
Is this true? I'll have to listen to it; another one of those from that WOW cd that I've not heard.

This song has bad lyrics: "Trouble" by Ray Lamontagne
Is this true? Nope. I love the lyrics...

This song has very good lyrics: "All We Ever Needed" by Rush Of Fools
Is this true? Yes, very much so!

This song is good to dance to: "How Will I Know" by Whitney Houston
Is this true? HECK YES IT IS!!! Hahaha!

I love singing this song: "This Is What I Mean By That" by Michael Tolcher
Is this true? I don't know all the words to this song...so, yes and no.

I wouldn't want people to know I like this song: "Boondocks" by Little Big Town
Is this true? Whatever! I dig this song something fierce... Hahaha!

This song is pretty old: "She Loves You" by The Beatles
Is this true? Old as in how? Yes, by date and played out...

This song is fairly new: "Poison Oak" by Bright Eyes
Is this true? Not so much...no.

This song has been on repeat many times: "The Walk" by Hanson
Is this true? Oh, my, yes...very much so! L-O-V-E it!

I never really liked this song THAT much: "Marvelous Things" by EISLEY
Is this true? LIE! I have always loved this song. It is one of the two of their songs that made me an EISLEY fan!

How many out of 30 were actually true? Eh, about 10. I counted two half corrects as one making it 10.

Well, that's all for now kiddies. Peace out.

The End.

Someday my Jim will come...

...and my Ron and my Roger, all combined into one.

The meeting has officially come to order...
I went to the EISLEY/ The Myriad/Vedera/The Envy Corps concert last night at Zydeco. And, extremely surprisingly, there were probably 50 people at that concert. No lie. I was sad for the bands for the little show... But, at the same time I was totally stoked because it was very enjoyable because of the little crowd. I was merely inches away from the bands. Seriously, Stacy's (from EISLEY) keyboard was about 6 inches from my face. It was the bestest b'day present concert I could ask for! I will definitely be posting pictures later (possibly tomorrow).

After the show was over I got to chat with the guys from The Myriad. They are really cool guys. I pre-ordered their album that is coming out in May and got a 5-song EP for free along with two buttons (again, who doesn't love a piece of flair?!). I got them to autograph -- yes, I went fangirl, but mild-manner fangirl, and had them do it -- my cd, which is a limited quantity cd...woot! I am currently listening to it as I blog this very blog.

I am officially fans of Vedera and The Envy Corps. I believe they have MySpace pages (as do The Myriad and EISLEY), so if you get a chance, check 'em out. They are a rockin' good time.

Next order of business...
Four days until we leave for Joyful Noise 2008! I am super-stoked excited about this festival! I will be even more super-stoked excited when my cds get here, which I am hoping will be Tuesday or Wednesday. I am still praying and working on set list(s). I'm definitely playing my 5 along with some covers, but as to which covers...I'm still waiting on the final cut.

New business...
So, I was browsing through some Xanga pages and came across this fun little thing. Now, I am at the Mac and don't have all my music loaded on this thing, so it probably won't be as funny, I guess, as it could be, but here we go.

The Rules:
1. Open up the music player on your computer.
2. Set it to play your entire music collection.
3. Hit the shuffle command.
4. Tell us the title of the next twenty-five songs that show up (with musicians), no mater how embarrassing. That's right, no skipping that KEVIN FEDERLINE tune that will totally destroy your hip credibility. It's ime for total musical honesty.

The Results:
1. Brightly Wound, EISLEY
2. Apologize, OneRepublic
3. Come Clean, EISLEY
4. Head Against the Sky, EISLEY
5. Running Man, Hanson
6. Been There Before, Hanson
7. I Drove All Night, Carly Smithson (American Idol)
8. Daydream, Jason Castro (Americna Idol)
9. Your Man, Josh Turner
10. In My Life, The Beatles
11. Happy Together, Brooke White (American Idol)
12. Hallelujah, Jason Castro (American Idol)
13. Mr. Tom, Patrick Watson
14. Georgia, Hanson
15. Giver, Patrick Watson
16. Hold You In My Arms, Ray Lamontagne
17. If I Fell, Jason Castro (American Idol)
18. Little Sparrow, David Cook (American Idol)
19. Even The Streets, Matt Wertz
20. Plenty Of Paper, EISLEY
21. Blue Sky, Hanson
22. Combinations, EISLEY
23. Night And Day, The Good Life
24. What Hurts The Most, Rascal Flatts
25. Don't Stop Believing, Journey

Yeah, it would have been waaaay more interesting had I been on the desktop. Eh, maybe another post I'll do it again and from there.

Well, that's all kiddies. Peace out.

The End.

P.s., References are: Jim, The Office; Ron, Harry Potter novels; Roger, 101 Dalmations (Animated, yes, animated version. Shut it.).

"Scrapple."

"There's no mistake that the word 'crap' is in the middle of it."

I just absofruitly l-o-v-e watching Ace of Cakes. They are pee-your-pants funny and I want to be friends with most of the staff on that show..., primarily Mary Alice, Geoff, Anna and Katherine. Pretty much awesome-tastic. P.s., that's where my opening quote came from.

"The time has come," the Walrus said...
Well, I am official six and twenty. Eh, feels about like 25 and 24 and 23 and 22 and 21 and so on all felt like...

"to talk of other things."
One week and counting until Joyful Noise 2008 goes down. I have finally finished up with the cd and am now waiting for them to come in, which should be early this coming week. Excited am I very...

"Of shoes and ships and ceiling wax..."
Mom and I are currently avoiding the task of cleaning the extra bedroom, also known as the Junk Room. And boy howdy is it ever a junk room. It is all kinds of a horrifically nasty mess.

Well, that's all...that I can think of at this point in time.

Peace out.

The End.

P.s., OH! I got my hairs cutted. I will post pictures later.

Because the world revolves around Ashley...

Here is a new post.

Hahaha! Ashley, I can hear your response as I type this...and in my head, it's humerus. The End.

The Countdown has begun...
Well, I officially have five -- well, four as of 9:30 in the morning, if you want to get really technical -- days until I turn the big six and twenty. That's four years from being thirty. I sure as heck don't feel I should be that age. I feel as though I should be turning twenty-one or twenty-two. Maybe the birth certificate is wrong... Eh, whatever.

After that...
Uh, two words: Eisley concert! Heck to the yes! Sunday, April 13th, happy (late-and-better-than-never) birthday to me! Sooooo going...

And after that...
The official number of days until Joyful Noise: 13 (12 is the magic number for when we leave to head up to Fairmont, NC). Who's excited? Oh, pick me! Pick me! I am!

Who's all excited that after tomorrow the Barefoot EP will be mixed and mastered and ready to make duplicates of and hopefully be available for purchasing needs for Joyful Noise 2008...and also for others who just want to buy one.

And after that...
Nothing else comes to mind.

I would like to say another "Thanks" to all the loverly gifts I received Saturday night. Gift cards, so getting used...tomorrow. I am all sorts of excited about my Alice print (Oh yeah!) that Ashley (and I'm guessing Ryan too) got me and the pink capo (heck yes!) that Becca and Chris got me -- ever impatiently awaiting those! Stinkin' excited. So...thanks...again.

Well, that's all. Peace out.

The End.

Tuesday, April 1, 2008

The Barefoot EP is coming...FINALLY!!! Weeee!!!

legal stimulants rock!
SQUEEE!!!

I don't think I can emphasis the "FINALLY!!!" in the heading enough...

So, Bob and I went down to the church tonight and had a recording session (finally -- I have a feeling this will be the word of the day in this post. Remember Pee Wee fans, when you hear the word of the day, you scream.). P.s., Bob, or Jerry Seinfeld, as I like to call him, is my dad...for those who have to ask the question, "Who's Bob?"

Now all I need to do is move some funds in some accounts and send my music files, design for cd cover insert, and additional info for the cd via internet and wait about a week to get my mass produced cd. Woot to the woot!

P.s., I'm also gonna get some stickers made, and possibly buttons. Let's be honest who doesn't love a piece of flair?

Well, that's all. I was just excited and had to post this before going to bed.

Peace out.

The End.
